Our Pinot Noir grapes are sourced from the Arroyo Grande Valley. Pinot Noir prefers cool to temperate climates with gentle, fog-filtered morning sun. It also likes to grow on slopes to catch cooling sea breezes. This grape thrives in Arroyo Grande’s protected valley.
Our Pinot Noir is a medium-dry red wine with a medium body. It is strawberry fruit-forward. The wine may feel light on the palate, yet the flavors are bold. Delicately dry with light tannins and slight acidity. We age it in French oak to emphasize the fruit flavors and to impart a fuller mouthfeel.
This wine has a toasted caramelized coconut bouquet. Flavors include dried strawberry, leathery and earthy notes with hints of vanilla and spice. A slight tobacco smoke aroma lingers on the finish.
Food Pairings: The acid in the wine is subtle, yet apparent, which makes this a great wine to pair with your favorite foods. Pinot noir pairs particularly well with duck, chicken, pork, and mushrooms. Try with Julia Child’s classic beef bourguignon with a side of buttered peas and a salted baguette. Traditionally pair this with Coq au Vin (red wine braised chicken). Pairs well with Gruyere, Taleggio and sheep’s milk cheeses.
